Zhao Lingshuo (1048–?) was a Northern Song imperial clansman and official. He was styled Bojian, came from Kaifeng, and was a fifth-generation descendant of Emperor Taizu of Song.
Life
During the reign of Emperor Shenzong, he earned the jinshi degree and held the status of an imperial-clan member. His father was Zhao Shixiong (1031–1105); his eldest son was Zhao Ziyi, and his fifth son was Zhao Zhi.
He held offices including Taichang shaoqing, Guanglu qing, Jiangzuo jian, Taipu qing, Weiwei qing, prefect of Yingzhou and Guang Prefecture, Honglu shaoqing, and prefect of Zhengzhou and Heyang. He ultimately attained the post of Bao wen ge daizhi. The office of Weiwei qing is also given as Weiwei si qing; he likewise held the post of langzhong in the Cibu Section of the Shangshu Province. In 1090 he served as supervisor of the Jiangzuo Directorate; from 1098 to 1099, he was prefect of Guang Prefecture.
Works and poetry
He had a collection entitled 《詩聲集》, which is lost; two poems by him are extant.
