Lu Yuanming (550–630) was a Tang-dynasty scholar and official. The name is also written Lu Yuanlang, with Deming as another name; he was a native of Wu County.

Life

His examination category was the regular presented-name group, excluding the Mingjing and Mingfa examinations; he served as an academician in a princely household and was classified as a civil official. His father was Lu Yong, who died in 596; his eldest son was Lu Jingyi, and his second son was Lu Dunxin.

Works

His writings were devoted to classical learning. They include Zhouyi Zhengyi, Shangshu Zhengyi, and Jingdian Shiwen, as well as works on the Shijing, Zhouli, Yili, Liji, and the three traditions of the Chunqiu. Other titles include Lunyu, Xiaojing, Erya, Lushi Sanzhuan Shiwen Yinyi, Jingdian Shiwen Xulu, and works titled Laozi Daode Zhenjing, Nanhua Zhenjing, and Liezi Chongxu Zhenjing.
