Fu Zhongxin (傅忠信) was a Song-dynasty military official; his courtesy name was 德先.

Career

By the third year of the Jianyan era, he held the rank of 忠訓郎; his appointments included 忠翊郎, 保義郎, 中衛大夫, administrator of Zhenrong Army, and deputy commander of infantry and cavalry forces. He also served as military commissioner of Chengzhou.

When Li Shizhong was defending Huazhou, he summoned Fu Zhongxin, was greatly impressed by him, and asked the Jingzhi Office to grant him a temporary appointment as 忠翊郎; Fu retained command of his unit and was entrusted with offensive and defensive operations. In the course of his career, Li Shizhong recommended him, while Liu Yi, Lou Zhao, Hu Shijiang, and Zhang Zhongfu served as his superiors.

When Zhang Zhongfu commanded the circuits of Shaanxi, Fu Zhongxin volunteered ahead of the other officers, declaring his readiness to die for the state; Zhang judged that no one was his equal. During Lou Zhao's mission to Shaanxi, Lou valued his ability, and Fu was promoted to deputy commander of the Yongxing Circuit's infantry and cavalry forces and administrator of Zhenrong Army. After reaching Nanshan, he garrisoned strategic positions and sought an assignment from the pacification commissioner Hu Shijiang; Hu reported his achievements to the throne, and Fu was consequently granted the rank of 協忠大夫 and the office of 華州觀察使.

In the thirteenth year of Shaoxing, he was transferred to 安德軍承宣使 and concurrently appointed acting deputy commander of the Jinghu South Circuit's infantry and cavalry forces, with his other appointments unchanged. In the twenty-sixth year of Shaoxing, the military system was reorganized into five armies; Fu became commander of the imperial front army's forces and was promoted to 履正大夫. In the thirtieth year of Shaoxing, because the frontier at 洋州 was especially urgent, the court approved the request and appointed him 知洋州, with concurrent responsibility as 管內安撫使 and 沿邊都巡檢使. After receiving honors on eight occasions at suburban sacrifices, he was repeatedly enfeoffed as 清河郡開國侯, with a fief of 1,700 households and an actual fief of 100 households.
