Zheng Lansun (1819–1861) was a Qing-dynasty woman poet and painter. Her courtesy name was Yuqing (also written with the variant character 淸), and she used the sobriquet Hengzhou; her native place is variously given as Renhe or Qiantang, with the latter written 錢唐 or 錢塘.
Life
She was the wife of Xu Hongmo (1813–1864), who served as a jingli of Yangzhou Prefecture. They had a son, Xu Qi (1851–1918), and a daughter, Xu Zixian. Xu Shi (1796–1849), a nephew on her husband’s side, presented her with poems and prose.
Literary and artistic work
She excelled in poetry and painting and was adept at painting orchids. Her works include Lianyinshi ci in one juan, Duliang xiangge shici ji, and Lianyinshi shigao. The preface writers associated with her works include Yu Yue, Xu Hongmo, Qian Shibiao, Yu Xiusun, Xu Youshen, Sun Yinpei, Zhang Wei, Gu Xiuying, Zhong Weize, Yang Changjun, Qin Xiangye, Sun Nianpei, Sun Ying, Xu Gengshen, and Xu Zhiying; Xu Yueshen wrote a postface.
