Bao Zhihui (1757–1810) was a woman of the Qing dynasty. Her courtesy name was Zhongsi, her sobriquet Chaixiang, and Jixiang is also given as an alternative name; she was from Dantu.

Life

Bao Zhihui was Bao Gao’s second daughter; her mother was Chen Ruizhu (1714–1778). Her siblings included Bao Zhizhong (1740–1802), Bao Zhikui, Bao Zhilan (1736–1795), and Bao Zhifen (1761–1808). Her clan nephews were Bao Guixing (1764–1825) and Bao Wenkui (1765–1828), and her niece was Shao Yun.

After marriage she became a member of the Zhang family, with her husband named Zhang Xuan (born 1756) in one account and Zhang Yi in another; the latter is described as a yunpan. Her son was Zhang Cheng, and her father-in-law was Zhang Tang.

Writings and literary circle

The titles associated with her include Qingyuge yingao (six juan), Qingyuge shichao (one juan), another one-juan Qingyuge yingao, Suiyuan nü dizi shixuan (six juan), and Jingjiang Bao shi san nüshi shichao heke; Qingyuge hegao is another title. Qingyuge yingao has prefaces by Bao Zhizhong, Wu Xiqi, Wu Xuan, and Li Xigong, as well as by Bao Guixing, Erji Fashishan, and Fashishan.

Postscripts to Qingyuge yingao were written by Hong Liangji, Chen Chaozeng, Hu Xiangyun, Zhulin laoren, and Fashishan. The same work has title inscriptions by Liu Siwan, Chen Xie, Qian Zhiding, Guo Qi, Zhao Zhuotong, and Li Zhen. Bao Zhihui exchanged poems with Ji Fang and Guo Qi, while her son Zhang Cheng edited the poems and prose.
