Zhan Shiwen (詹師文) was a Song-dynasty jinshi. His courtesy name was Shujian (叔簡), and he came from Chong'an (崇安) in Jianning; the place is now Wuyishan, Fujian.

Life

His grandfather was 詹伯友, his father 詹萬通, and his wife 翁氏. His son, 詹夢璧, was born in 1201.

After passing the jinshi examination in the second year of the Qingyuan era (1196), he was appointed Wuyuan commandant (婺源尉). He earned merit by suppressing banditry and was transferred to serve as a legal examiner in the Jiangxi judicial office (江西憲司); the post is also described as a legal examiner in the Jiangxi Judicial Commission (江西提刑司). His adjudication of cases was without wrongful judgments.

After completing his term, he returned home and did not resume office. His recorded titles also include Rulin lang (儒林郎); he is described as a good official (良吏), an upright official (循吏), and learned (好學).

After returning home, he associated with Zhen Dexiu (真德秀) and Zou Yinglong (鄒應龍), and became known in his time for his ci and fu composition.

His works include 《幔亭遺稿》 and 《通典編要》。
