He Sanwei

He Sanwei was a person of the Ming dynasty, styled Shiyi (士抑), from Songjiang Huating; his native place is also given simply as Huating.

Life and career

In the renwu year of the Wanli era (1582), he became a juren and was appointed as a tui guan at Shaoxing Prefecture. His appointments also included tui guan and fu tui guan; one posting is associated with Wanli 33.

Associations and literary activity

Tu Long was his teacher, and Chen Jiru was his student. He sent letters to Chen Jiru, Feng Mengzhen, Tu Long, Dong Qichang, and others. He also received letters from Feng Mengzhen, Fang Yingxuan, and Huang Chengxuan, replied to Chen Yumo, Shen Zan, and Zhang Jiyi, and received replies from Tao Wangling and Huang Chengxuan. He also wrote a sacrificial text for Huang Hongxian, presented poetry and prose to Zhu Geng, and composed a shrine record for Jiang Bao.

Works

His works include 《芝園居廬集》 and 《鳳山拜石堂槀》; a twelve-juan work is titled 《何氏拜石堂集》.
